Behind the Peak explores functional ceramics through mountain imagery, reflecting the uncertainty of life, while offering a sense of encouragement for the journey ahead.
The artwork features layered mountain forms, with the sun resting just behind one of the peaks. In the distance, two birds travel across the landscape, continuing forward, regardless of how many mountains lie ahead.
The piece is a reflection on movement through the more uncertain or difficult moments in life. It serves as a reminder to keep going, even when the path feels unclear or demanding. Because the light we’re searching for may be closer than we realise. The sun may already be there, just behind the next peak.
